This wonderful couple has such a beautiful story to tell – literally! He is a tattoo artist, and they met in the salon when he did her very first tattoo (which you can see in these gorgeous portraits of the two of them). This maternity session has so much symbolism, and I love it!
Beauty in Black & White
Rosemary is now in her third trimester, so they will get to meet their sweet baby any day now (maybe even about when this session is published to the blog)! This couple was absolutely wonderful to work with, and she wasn’t shy about showing off a little skin. And rightfully so! This mama-to-be is stunning! They both love art, and they appreciate the beauty of black and white images. I really enjoyed highlighting the contrast and lines in these photos. These black and white maternity photos look intimate, romantic and striking. B&W images are also great for silhouettes and side profiles – exactly what you need for some equally stunning and unique bump portraits!
For Rosemary’s wardrobe for the session. We went with sheer satin wraps and an extra feminine body suit with ruffled sleeves to show off her natural beauty and growing bump. One of my favorite images, though, is the one of her in a luxurious fur shawl. As we head into winter soon, I thought this one was a beautiful way to represent the time of year. their baby would be born, and it’s a unique accent you don’t normally see in maternity sessions.
Looking Like an Angel
And for the grand finale of the photo shoot, Rosemary went with something a creative and fanciful: she posed in a sheer white lace dress with angel wings fanning out on both sides. The natural light from the window softened the feathery wings, and Rosemary looked absolutely radiant as the focal point of the image. This was so much fun to put together, and I hope they enjoy this photo as much as I do!
This couple is in for the adventure of a lifetime. Parenthood truly is the best. It’s amazing how babies seem to make us stronger and grow us in ways we couldn’t imagine. They bring light to our world, and help bring a couple even closer together as they care for their sweet child. I feel almost as excited as they do as they anticipate their little one’s arrival! Congratulations to these two!
