The Art of Maternity

Boudoir photos meets maternity session-wow! Toree is such a captivating, stunning mom-to-be! Her husband gave her this session as a surprise gift, and I think it was a hit. She was such a natural in front of the camera. She looked like a born-to-be model. We did this session in the studio, and Toree was down to try some different creative images with me. My favorite is the black and white photo of her silhouette as she releases a line of butterflies in front of her. It’s so symbolic of pregnancy and the process she and her soon-to-arrive baby are going through. Before she knows it, the little one she has protected inside of her for these past few months will be here. She and her husband will finally get to see the beautiful butterfly they hoped and waited for. As a mother myself, I understand the anticipation and excitement they feel during this unforgettable stage in their lives. I am so happy for them! Every time I see beautiful expecting mothers like Toree, I’m taken back to that time in my life. For this session, we did a few sexy photos (I always want my expecting mothers to feel like the beautiful women that they are), and I think Toree and her husband will love looking back on  hese portraits years later to remember how spectacular she looked and remind them of all the emotions they felt at the time. Toree will be able to see how much she glowed during her pregnancy. We also did several light-filled photos with Toree dressed in delicate white lace. These are so elegant and lovely. During pregnancy, I think it’s important to take time for sessions like these. Do something for yourself that makes you feel beautiful and special-because you are. I think it’s amazing that Toree’s husband thought to do this for her as a gift. He sure did a good job! 😉
