I love when my clients have a clear vision of their goals for their sessions. Especially when it comes to maternity sessions. This is such an important time in mom and dad’s life, so my goal is to provide for them exactly what they want. This gorgeous couple is expecting their first little one, and we had so much fun together creating and designing the theme for this session. When Chloe first reached out to me, she shared her thoughts on the session with me. “My husband I want to celebrate our first-born by engaging in a maternity shoot. We want this experience to be good for the both of us, as well as a memory to be cherished by our future child when she is old enough to see/interpret the photographs. Our engagement/wedding pictures were done by a friend who later struggled with some personal events in life and never delivered the photographs... So needless to say we are both looking forward to a maternity photoshoot. I understand that for the majority of the time, maternity shoot will focus on the mother; however I do want my husband to participate in at least 1/3 of the shoot, and get a good couple shot that can celebrate our ‘parenthood.’ I do have certain preferences, for example I love neutral color themes (white background, flowy white tulle backdrop, bright ethereal pictures, etc) and my preferences in dresses would be white or neutral. However for the most part I trust the professional judgement of the photographer :)”
Seeing as they were not able to enjoy the galleries from their engagement and wedding photos, I knew that it was even more important that I make their dream of a perfect maternity session a reality. I am happy to say that I think we accomplished just that. Once I sent the images over to Chloe, she quickly responded that she loved the collection.
