Every time I do a newborn session, I can’t help but look at the family resemblances. It is so much fun to see which features are from Mom and which are from Dad-either way, they are always a beautiful blend of both. Baby Elle came into my studio at ten days old, and wow! she is such a little beauty. Most newborns snooze their way through their very first photo sessions, but not this girl! She was bright eyed and full of expression. We really got some great photos of her in action. I have a feeling this little one is going to be a firecracker-full of vibrant personality. Elle’s mother, Lana, wanted soft pink, lavender, and cream colors for her newborn portraits, and her dark hair and beautiful complexion looked so pretty with the delicate floral backgrounds. She was as sweet as can be and so very happy throughout the session. Her dad, Matthew, is a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan, so we had to incorporate his love of baseball into the shoot, too. To his pleasant surprise, the baseball photos turned out to be the ones where Elle was most lively and happy! Check out that little smirk and those adorable fingers. This girl was cracking me up-she was too cute! I have no doubt that these priceless photos will be passed around for years to come. It’s not every day that I see so much energy in a newborn shoot.

After that, this sweet girl was worn out, and she finally succumbed to a peaceful sleep for the rest of the photos. As she was sleeping, I could already see how much she looks like her beautiful mom. There is just something so special about the bond between a mother and her daughter, and I am so excited for their relationship to form throughout this first year of Elle’s life. Matthew is one lucky guy to have these two special ladies. And based off of these photos, I think Elle is going to share his love of baseball. I can just see them now, sitting together with some peanuts and baseball caps rooting on their team-now, that would be a cute picture!
