Sweet Nina was born last month and came to my studio for her very first photo shoot at just one week old! She was the perfect little model, and she pulled off every single one of Mom’s ideas for her session like a pro.
Angela and John couldn’t wait to meet their beautiful angel, and she came just in time to celebrate their first Christmas as a new family of three! I would say she’s the best gift they could have imagined.
We started planning her session a few months before her birth so we would be ready when the big day arrived. Angela was so easy to work with, and she knew exactly what she was wanting for her baby girl’s first session. She wanted several classic newborn shots as well as some black and white family photos that really focused on their closeness. I love how the silhouette images turned out! I can’t help but tear up at the priceless first father and daughter photograph. It gets me every time! I bet he will look at his little girl like that forever. Daughters just have a way of touching a father’s heart.
And then there’s the beautiful shot of Mom snuggling her sleeping daughter in close to her chest. I know little Nina will love that one, too, as she gets older. All of their family portraits are so lovely!
Freezing Time & Preserving Memories
Then it was time for the themed shots. Since she is a fall baby, we did several photos with colorful leaves and pumpkins. And because she’s their early Christmas gift, I though the set with the ice skates would look so pretty. We also incorporated a simple yet creative Christmas tree design with baby Nina sleeping in the center.
Mom was a cheerleader at West Virginia University, so she brought along some adorable WVU bloomers and cheer bow! So cute! Between the pastel floral images, warm and cozy sets, and classic newborn close-ups, they will have a full collection of newborn portraits to use for just about any occasion or wall art design. I can’t wait to hear how they plan to use them!
This stage goes by in the blink of an eye, so I know they will love having professional, quality images that they can look back on for years to come. It will be equally special for Nina, too. She will see these gorgeous images of her as a newborn as see just how much her family adored her (plus, they work great as displays as graduations and weddings down the road).
Happy BIRTH day, Nina!
