What a Happy first birthday it was for Milana! These parents requested that I make a book to celebrate her first year of life, and I was thrilled! I think this book will be such a special keepsake to have to look back on as she grows from an adorable little girl to a confident young woman. I reminded them that even Milana would enjoy looking at this book one day, so I wanted to make it extra fun for them! For most sessions, I stick with 3-5 different settings because I know that’s about all a one year old can handle in one sitting. This family wanted 10 settings for their book, so I suggested that we split this into two separate sessions. Two sessions ensured that we would have more smiling faces from Milana, and less tired eyes! I had a great assistant on deck this day because timing is critical with kids. She was able to help me quickly change backdrops, outfits, and props. Having my assistant by my side is what makes they day go by so smoothly, and I couldn’t be more thankful for her!
I had mom and dad pick out the sets that would best fit Milana's individuality, and boy did she show off her cute, bubbly personality once we got started! The set where she was dressed up as a little angel is the one that truly stole my heart, those eyes and those curls had me swooning! Seeing her in the chef outfit had us all rolling with laughter and wondering what she will be passionate about later in life. The first year of life is one of many "firsts" for a little one, so I try to include all of the new things that my one year olds have accomplished. For Milana, her new skills included walking, smiling for the camera, and waving. In these photos, you will see the beautiful book that I created for this sweet girl! My goal is always to create something that will be fun for the parents and kids alike to look back at one day and smile.
