Alex’s 1st Birthday Photography Session

I was so excited to see this handsome little guy again! Alex’s first birthday session happens to be the third time I’ve been able to photograph him and his sweet mom, Alexandra. I took Mom’s maternity photographs, Alex’s newborn photos and the family’s Christmas session, and now again for his first birthday and second family Christmas session. I couldn’t wait to get started! I was too excited to use my Christmas themed gas station set at my studio. I know that might sound strange, but the pictures are downright cute. The background has the sweetest red Christmas tree hauling truck, an antique gas pump, and an old timey toy truck. Add Alex in a Santa outfit, and the cuteness level went up to 11! He is the most adorable little Santa’s helper I’ve seen.

The family joined the little guy and we moved to the fireplace set. Everyone took turns holding Santa’s little helper and posing for the camera. They were in the highest of spirits as they were all dressed in seasonally inspired attire. Then time came for Alex to steal the show again. He found his place among a crowd of plush teddy bears under the tree. He makes such an adorable Christmas present!

After everyone had their fill of Christmas, we switched gears to take photographs of Alex to commemorate his first birthday. We chose to go with a cake “smash” first; however, Alex ended up being rather respectful to the cake. We still captured some great photographs of his big smile and dapper little outfit though. We moved onto the bath theme, which turned out cleaner than anticipated due to his mild manner with the cake. I love the sweet little antique tub and blue hydrangeas, such old world charm.
