Baby Model in Training!
Handsome baby Garrett came to visit me at the studio when he was just two weeks old. He had no idea what was taking place at the time. He slept so soundly, lulled by the sounds of the studio and his parents’ voices, but little did he know, this is just the start of his potential modeling career – they have even started an Instagram account for their tiny baby model! Garrett is one of the calmest newborns I’ve ever met. Throughout the session, he just slept, looked around, and even showed off a few sleepy smiles. When we changed sets and had to change and pose him, he just fell into an even deeper sleep. I don’t think he cried once!
Precious Baby Boy Newborn Portraits
Baby Garrett is Reza and Manizheh’s first baby. He was born in Inova Fairfax Hospital (where most of my clients have their babies). It’s one of the best, and it’s conveniently just a few minutes from my photography studio!
They wanted a full collection of photos with lots of pastel colors – especially shades of blue and green – as well as some themed portraits. I always love the apple orchard photo, and it’s a perfect gender-neutral backdrop for fall! We also incorporated the adorable stork photos and the peaceful ocean image. In the end, Mom and Dad loved the images so much they ordered a reveal box filled with all of the photos and a beautiful 16x20” canvas of their favorite image. They chose one of the more classic themes for their wall art, and I know it will look great no matter where they decide to put it.
All the Little Details Captured Forever
While constructing the creative themes is a fun part of newborn photography, my absolute favorite part is capturing all of the newborn details. Garrett has a head full of dark hair, which made it so tempting to gently rub his feathery soft head and give him all the snuggles. While fighting the urge to hold the sweet baby, I photographed his tiny toes, wiggly fingers, and precious eyes. These are the things his parents will want to remember forever. Thank goodness for photography!!
Reza and Manizheh are so in love with their sweet son that they hope to add another member to the family in the future – maybe a baby sister for Garrett?
