Hudson, 10 days new. Baby photography in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia

Welcome to the world, handsome Hudson! This little guy came to the studio at just ten days new weighing in at seven pounds and measuring 20.5 inches long. What a sight to behold. He snoozed his way through the entire session with multiple poses and “wardrobe” changes. If only newborns could sleep this soundly during the night! Are you searching for Family Photographer DC? Nataly Danilova Photography is the best option for you.

When to schedule your newborn session

Sometimes, new parents ask me why I strongly encourage them to schedule their newborn sessions within the two-week-old timeframe. I certainly don’t mind capturing babies who are a little bit older, and they are adorable at any age, but you’d be surprised at how quickly they grow and develop during those first few weeks! Their transformation is astonishing—how amazing would it be to take side-by-side pictures of the first six weeks of life? So, for parents who truly want newborn portraits that capture those tiny features—the perfect fingernails, soft wrinkles, and wisps of hair—the first two weeks is the best time. Not too long after, their cheeks get a little squishier and they don’t quite fit in the palms of your hands anymore. (Doing milestone photos during that first year is a great way to capture their remarkable growth.)

Hudson’s dad is big football fan, and I love to incorporate some of the parents’ personalities and interests into the newborn sessions. Hudson looked so cute resting on top of a football that was almost bigger than him! Before they know it, Hudson will be toddling around the house with his dad’s football, and soon after they’ll be playing catch in the backyard.

Since we got the sports picture in for Dad, I made sure to create some charming memoirs for Mom, too. Hudson snuggled right into the teddy-bear-themed swaddling blanket and the puppy dog knit hat and tail. These photos are perfect for decorating a nursery or sending out as birth announcements. Afterward, we did a few simple, classic newborn photos, great for anything—albums, displays, cards, etc. Finally, we ended with a holiday-themed shot for this winter baby as well as a whimsical shot of Hudson sleeping on a rustic baby bed surrounded by dreamy hydrangeas. Are you searching for Baby Photographer DC? Nataly Danilova Photography is the most reputed company that leading the pride.

Of course, we got a few family portraits in, too. I know how hard it is at this stage to update pictures consistently, so I make sure to get in as many combinations as possible while my families with little ones are at the studio. I had an amazing time with this sweet family, and I hope to see them again soon!
