Baby Inarah made her grand debut into the world in early spring, and her family could not be more thrilled. This gorgeous family of four lit up my studio, and I did not want the session to end! They brought her two me when she was ten days old, and I could not wait to document those precious (yet fast growing) newborn features. The tiny fingers, rosebud lips, impossibly long lashes, and adorable froggy legs. In just a month or two, she will no longer look like a newborn as she blossoms into a wide-eyed infant who is ready to explore, so it’s so important to photograph these details while you can.

A Colorful & Whimsical Newborn Collection

When I asked Mom and Dad what kind of newborn photos they would like, they said a little bit of everything. So, we got to planning. They really like the idea of the fluffy cloud, rainbow blossom tree, crescent moon, and matryoshka doll themes for the more whimsical sets. Sweet Inarah went right along with the plan perfectly. She snoozed almost the whole way through, and we were able to get all of the dreamy sets in for them.

For the classic poses, we used colorful wreaths, wooden hearts, and snuggly fabric. I love that they chose a diverse collection because they can use them for so many purposes: wall art, birth announcements, albums, and more. They have plenty of colors to choose from as well as closeup detail shots and some farther away.

Then, we brought in the rest of the family. Big sister Sophia is just adorable, and she really did a great job with her baby sister. At three years old, I know it’s so hard for them to sit still and safely pose with a newborn – especially when there are so many interesting things to investigate in the studio – so I utilize composites when the age gap is this close. Nevertheless, Sophia participated wonderfully, and their sibling shots and family portraits preserve this magical phase of life they’re in. Parenting is a crazy-yet-beautiful journey, and I’m so glad they came in to document these memories that will last a lifetime. Are you searching for Baby Photographer DC?
