This little beauty not only had all of the precious rolls, she also had the sweetest little face. Interestingly enough, big brother Chase (who is already two years old!) looks so much like his beautiful mama while McKenzie Grace takes after her dad a little more. It’s funny how that works – you never know how the genes are going to play out. And once this sweet girl opened her eyes, her mama’s distinct sparkle was there, too! This brother and sister duo are the most gorgeous blend of their parents.
Welcome, McKenzie Grace!
Baby McKenzie Grace was born September 18, 2018, and she visited my studio with her family when she was just ten days old – the perfect time frame for capturing sleepy newborn portraits. At 8 pounds 12 ounces, this little girl was healthy as can be, and she did not have a hard time snoozing her way through her session. She had to get in her beauty rest, after all!
Steve and Keisha wanted a large collection of diverse portraits that they would use as wall art, in albums, and for baby announcements, so we incorporated a little bit of everything. After having a boy first and doing all the more masculine photos and décor, they were excited to embrace a more feminine touch we McKenzie Grace’s session. We used everything from a heart-shaped wicker basket covered in soft florals, to light-blue hydrangeas, and even some seafoam green.
Seasonal Newborn Portraits
They also have photos for just about every season! We used the light green and bunny ears for spring (plus lots of bright florals), peacock feathers and blooming trees for summer, pumpkins and shades of peach for fall, and a dreamy winter’s night set for winter. During the lavender box setup, baby girl opened her gorgeous eyes, and we even got a tiny little smile from her later on. I can’t say I have a favorite – I just love them all.
After her individual newborn portraits showing off her baby features, we moved on to some sibling shots. Handsome little Chase did such a good job with his baby sister for being just two years old! I love the pumpkin setup, and Chase was all smiles in front of the camera.
Finally, we ended with some lovely classic family portraits. This family of four could not be more beautiful, and they were all such a pleasure to work with and photograph!
Welcome to the world, McKenzie Grace!
