I had the honor of meeting Sabrina a few months ago for her maternity session with me. She was so excited to be having her first daughter, and we talked of scheduling a newborn session at that time. Eight Sweet Days Old
This little sweetheart came to her session and just eight days old. She had such a good disposition, and was very easy-going as we were able to use many of the different props I have collected in my Tyson’s Corner, Virginia studio. In my years as a newborn specialty photographer, I have gathered an incredible array of outfits, backdrops, wraps, hats, headbands, blankets, flower bonnet and props to create many different looks.
Being born close to the holidays, I wanted to be sure to incorporate many of my holiday looks. I have a wonderfully rustic setting with kraft paper boxes and large red ribbons. Emma rested in a large Santa sack, as various sized teddy bears kept a watchful eye on her. We also placed her in a hollow tree trunk prop filled with lush a blush cream blanket. Swaddled up in a green wrap and wearing a female reindeer bonnet, Emma looked like a cute little Clarice from the Rudolph movies!
Delightfully Feminine
I took advantage of adorning this little beauty with many flowers and soft colors, making her session delightful and feminine. We used a peach floral ruffle blanket while Emma slept and decorated with a beautiful set of butterfly wings and then with a simple crown, symbolizing the princess she is!
I love utilizing my large floral wreath, as well as my rustic woven nest. Both look so chic as we weave flowers into the pieces, creating beautiful looks. Emma looked so perfect perched atop all the blooms, as she rested so peacefully!
One of my favorite pieces used during this session was my crescent moon and cloud backdrop. I wonder what this little one will dream about as she grows up, but for now I know mom Sabrina loved how peaceful her daughter looked as she slept under the stars.
It’s always so difficult to choose a favorite from my sessions, but I hope to give the families options for them to choose their gallery. The newborn time is so quick to pass by, and I know it’s so important for parents to remember the newness, wonder, and sweetness of their new baby.
