It’s still February, and we’re still feeling the love. We want to keep it going all month – or all year – long! We are so happy to do special themed mini sessions for our clients. Valentine’s Day is a perfect time for creative and eye-catching photos. Each year we create something new and unique for our clients since many return for new photos. They’re all different, but they have a continual theme for the sweet holiday, so it’s fun to put them up side by side and watch your little Valentines grow year after year. You never know what you will find in the studio for Valentine’s Day: hearts, lipstick kisses, Cupids – we love it all. Sometimes we even incorporate fantastical, romantic, or fairy tale backdrops, which make the day feel even more magical. This is one of my favorite days of the year, and I love seeing the kiddos dressed in their Valentine’s outfits.
Cupid’s Bakery
This year, we did a little storefront theme. If St. Valentine owned a bakery, and Cupid were a baker, this is what it would look like. In the windows, we showcased sweet treats topped with cherries and pink icing, which the babies LOVED trying to eat. (Don’t worry, each one got a little Valentine surprise.) And to make it even cuter, we added a white flower cart filled with red poppies, roses, and greenery.
The kiddos loved exploring and posing during these mini sessions. While the younger ones were set on examining the set, the older ones knew it was just a backdrop, so they twirled, and cheesed, and showed off their best glamor poses. For the babies, we did a few family portraits, too. Even the dads got in on the fun and couldn’t help but smile watching their little loves crawl around the set.
Short & Sweet
Mini sessions are a great way to document your children’s growth throughout the year in between the larger portrait sessions that happen less frequently. They’re great for families with multiple kids or babies because they are short and sweet and lots of fun.
