Pretty in Pink

This is Everly’s second session in my studio. We did her newborn session when she was only two weeks old. I remember her as an infant, trying hard to stay awake enough to take in the big new world around her. When her mom, Amie, called me to schedule Everly’s one-year-old cake smash session, I couldn’t believe that much time had already gone by.

I did not even recognize Everly when she first entered the studio. Not surprisingly, she has grown into a gorgeous little girl. I was so excited to see them again. Amie chose a simple beige theme with some soft pink and gold accents for the session (she sent me a photo that inspired her, and we put together her vision). The theme was perfect for Everly’s sweet personality. She had no trouble at all staying awake for this magical shoot. Everly looked like a little angel floating on clouds with her ruffled dresses and floral headbands. I wouldn’t necessarily describe the session as a “cake smash”-Everly carefully and meticulously examined her unicorn cake. She quickly turned the cake into a white horse as she decided the golden horn would be better off as a toy (or maybe a princess wand?) than as a cake topper.

Everly was the perfect little model-she loved posing for us, showing off her beautiful doe eyes. She smiled, pointed, played, and laughed as my shutter clicked away. Everly even gave us some serious, striking looks. I think she enjoyed being the center of attention. The last shot really took the cake, though, as she held up her pointer finger as if to proudly say, “I am one year old!”

I am truly honored that Amie brought Everly back for her milestone One Year portraits. I always enjoy catching up with returning clients and watching them grow over the years. I know baby Everly will continue to grow into a confident, happy little girl, and I am so excited for what the future has in store for her! Happy first birthday, little one!
