Meet sweet David! This handsome little man turned one year old this year, and mom and dad couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a fun first birthday session! It is so important to capture this big milestone in a child’s life, and parents never regret booking them with me. I had the pleasure of doing this family's maternity and newborn session previously. I am always thrilled to see clients again because I am able to see the little one's grow before my eyes, and lens! First Birthday Session Washington D.C.
During the session, we noticed that baby David wasn’t feeling himself. He is usually full of smiles and has a bubbly personality, but he was a bit cranky. We assumed maybe he didn’t get a long enough nap that day, but once mom returned home with him, she realized he had been running a temperature! Even though this little angel wasn’t feeling good during the session, we still managed to get these wonderful photos. I was surprised after hearing this news that he smiled as much as he did!
When I sat David up in front of his big cake, he was so curious! He wasn’t quite sure if he was allowed to touch it or not, and we were all having fun laughing at his expressions. The set up was just perfect for his personality. After the pilot costume, mom changed him into another outfit for the teddy bear overload! The entire family gathered around for this one, and it was so precious. How cute will this be framed in his bedroom?
This is such a beautiful family, and I was so happy to hear how much mom and dad wanted to be involved. For the last part of the session, we dressed mom and David up in an angel costume. This part was so heartwarming to see because there is nothing like a mother and son bonding. So much love filled this room! I’m sure little David fell right asleep on the way home after all of this excitement – especially since he wasn’t feeling himself!
