Christmas Baby Session

Wow! This beautiful girl is the happiest baby I have ever met. Even as a newborn, she continually flashed her pretty eyes, batted those long lashes, and dazzled us with her sweet smile. What a gift a baby is, and even more special for a baby to arrive right in time for Christmas! This was Aliya’s very first Christmas, and her parents wanted to commemorate her birth with a professional newborn session. Needless to say, she seemed to love every minute of it. I didn’t even know a newborn could possibly smile so much! As a newborn photographer who has photographed hundreds of sweet babies, I have never seen anything like it.

Little Aliya came into my studio with her mom, Sheila, at just two weeks old – the perfect time to capture those adorable newborn wrinkles and curled poses. To start off, we did a traditional Christmas set with some vintage wooden toys, beautifully wrapped gifts, and of course a couple teddy bears. She wore a lovely crimson red skirt and matching floral headband and she dozed peacefully in the bed. The Christmas tree twinkled in the backdrop, and we incorporated a star-glittered window above her. This is probably my favorite photo, and it was done just in time for holiday cards! We did some of her sleeping under the tree as well. The bird’s eye view provides a great angle for all of her features and full shot of her face.

Speaking of cards, Sheila wanted a few options, so we also did another customized Christmas card with baby Aliya sleeping soundly in the crook of the “J” in “Joy.” At just the right time, Aliya showed off another big smile for us. I just know her precious smile will be spread holiday cheer to all of their friends and family when they open their cards to see her angelic face.

Then, we moved on to some more traditional and timeless newborn shots with different pastel floral arrangements and backdrops. Aliya did a great job as we got lots of detailed, up-close shots of her tiny fingers, long lashes, and sleepy smiles. Sheila wanted a few mother-daughter photos, as, well, and I think they turned out so wonderfully. I love Sheila’s elegant lace dress, and I snapped several shots of them sharing a moment together as Aliya’s snuggled in close to her mother. Are you searching for Maternity Photographer DC?
